Get Paid: Part-Time Employment Opportunities
All Juma students receive a part-time job in one of our concession businesses at AT&T and Candlestick Parks in San Francisco, Oracle Arena and Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum in Oakland, Cal Memorial Stadium in Berkeley, or Qualcomm Stadium and PETCO Park in San Diego. Every job starts with a training program that prepares you for work as a vendor, scooper or barista. Students who show responsibility and a willingness to learn quickly receive bigger opportunities as well as a bigger paycheck.

Today, the majority of supervisors and assistant manager positions in Juma's social enterprise businesses are filled by Juma students and alumni.

Get Ready: College Preparation and Support
Juma helps you develop your own personal vision for the future, assists you in developing educational and career goals, and then supports you in taking whatever steps are needed to get there. Our alumni are currently attending colleges at UC San Diego, UC Berkeley, UC Santa Cruz, SFSU and California State University Los Angeles, to name just a few.

Get Help: Financial Education and Savings
At Juma, we don’t just help students raise grades, we help students raise the funds needed to pay for college. In addition to providing college tours and SAT preparation courses, we assist students with their applications for college, scholarships and financial aid. But getting you into college is only half of our mission. We want you to stay until you get your degree. That’s why we offer guidance and support throughout your college experience.

Get Smart: Financial Education and Savings
Juma provides financial education classes that teach you how to budget, determine needs from wants, build credit and manage money. These workshops are supplemented with financial coaching around money concerns you may have such as taxes, financial aid for college, and banking. With a Juma Individual Development Account (IDA), you can save money for college and Juma will match your savings up to two-to-one. That means that for every $1 you save, you will receive up to two more dollars from Juma -- not a bad deal!

As a Juma student, you are also eligible to open a no-cost checking account, allowing you to deposit and withdraw small amounts of money without paying fees or the high interest rates charged by check-cashing businesses.

Get More: Other Juma Offerings
Your Juma Youth Development Coordinator (YDC) will provide you with one-on-one coaching in a variety of areas ranging from goal-setting and personal responsibility to study skills.
