College & Career Services

Juma’s program provides exposure to college and career paths that expands youth’s horizons and often represents the first time that participants have seriously considered these options. Each year, we take youth on college tours of campuses throughout California, providing an introduction to the variety of 2-year and 4-year college options locally and beyond. To further broaden youths’ perspectives and increase the relevancy of college, Juma partners with major employers to offer career exploration tours.

As youth begin to make post-secondary plans, we provide educational support and assistance with college applications, financial aid and scholarship forms, and support youth in the transition from high school to college and career paths as they enter adulthood. For a limited number of deserving youth each year, Juma offers a scholarship program that recognizes accomplishments and provides support with college expenses.

• 97% of our participants are either still working and/or enrolled in academic or vocational training programs two years after transitioning out of Juma. 
• 96% of 2008 high school graduates are going to post-secondary education.
